This is a fairly generic classic-pop style piece that might suit a sentimental film sequence. I like the fact that I was able to find a well-defined melody and accompaniment in the ‘A’ section, so that there is clarity of motif and movement. The ‘B’ part could do with some consolidating but is thereabouts.
As with other pieces of this nature, I have deliberately implied contradicting harmony in the left and right hand of piano part, so creating an internal tension that helps to give the piece emotional impact. There are a couple of wrong notes in the bass still but ignoring those, I have tried to emulate how a ‘real’ bassist would accompany this piano part. The strings just flesh things out a little and provide extra colour and dynamic contrast between the sections.
