Goldfrapp meets Royksopp (Goldsopp??Roykfrapp?) I’m pleased with the various synths and love this bass sound. As often happens, the piano part, when combined with the underlying rhythm loop instantly suggested a bass line, which in turn lent itself to the melody. Then it was a question of finding a nice pad to flesh things out and a second lead sound and another loop to lift the last repeat.
You may have noticed that I like stepping around in minor 2nds and find that this can give rise to some nice quirky melodies and/or riffs. There’s also something pleasing about doubling a melody with a complimentary sound when it returns. The whistle-like sound that comes in over the final melody is a real find and I may well use it again some time.
