This is an old track that's not been aired before and I rather like it. It came about by really just messing
around with loops and synths with no particular agenda. I was really caught by the lead sound that breaks
up and distorts: I can't remember but suspect this was also put through an effect to make it more extreme.
What was particularly fun with this track is that I was using the REX loop player for the rhythm loops and
accidentally applied one of the loop's MIDI tracks to a synth patch and that is what gave rise to the
ascending chromatic bass scale that comes in after the break. It's great when this kind of accident happens
and gives rise to something that otherwise you'd probably never have thought of. I also enjoy the
looseness of the lead synth against the fixed quality of the underlying loops and sequences.
I played around with applying some effects to the whole mix, as well as elements within it and then
recording automation of the effect parameters. In this way, something that remains musically fairly static
and repetitive can evolve sonically
