This is a departure from the norm, as it's not original composition but a set of two traditional tunes:
'Soldier's Joy' and 'Davey Davey Knick Knack', which can be used for the Heel-Toe polka.
The tunes were recorded in response to a request from a subscriber and I know them from playing in
ceilidh bands. For the sake of expedience, I've used mostly sampled instruments but added some real
guitar to add a little 'looseness'. Similarly, I've avoided too much quantisation, so as to preserve the sense
of a live performance.
The various instruments drop in anad out on different parts of the tunes to give some contrast and to
mimick the way live players will do this in a traditional setting.
