Here's another filmic piano-based theme with some orchestration. I particularly wanted to experiment with pizzicato and legato strings together, as I tend to be lazy and stick with one or the other at any given moment. My saved orchestra template came into its own here, as the stored string sections give both options on adjacent tracks.
The melodic and harmonic movement are very typically me and I'm becoming more painfully aware of my little compositional ticks as I progress with these daily writings. I quite enjoy where the 'B' part slightly confounds expectation with the introduction of F# where an F might be more probable. Otherwise, this isn't earth-shattering but I'm happy overall. Another feature is the splitting of the cellos during this 'B' section, so that low fifths and octaves are introduced, adding a weight and solemnity often heard in film scores.
